The University of Tokyo ASEAN Association (UTASEAN) serves as an institutional platform dedicated to fostering a shared ASEAN identity and advancing cultural exchange, networking, and engagement among ASEAN–Japan students at the University of Tokyo.
The ASEAN student community comprises students from 11 Southeast Asian countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste.
UTASEAN is committed to fostering a “heart-to-heart” relationship based on mutual trust, mutual understanding, and mutual respect. As a student-led platform, we aim to contribute to this partnership by:

Promoting educational cooperation through student exchange opportunities and language learning.
Encouraging intellectual, academic, and research collaboration in areas such as Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), as well as global issues.
Facilitating networking among students, professionals, and business communities.
Advancing mutual understanding and appreciation of the rich cultural diversity within ASEAN and Japan.
